Can anyone tell me what colors of silkies I have?


It's a bit hard to say. I believe the one on the right is a silver silkie. I want to say the white-colored ones are paints, but their black coloration is only present on their tails and their wings. Despite this, my best guess on those two is that they are paints (That is only my best GUESS since I don't know of any closer color). As for the one on the left, I can't really see it well enough to tell you.

Here's another beauty. I wish I could get better pictures of this cockerel, he really is gorgeous. He poses with his tail held high and is just stunning! But, my tablet isn't quick enough to catch him, these were the best I could do. I think he and the Showgirl cockerel will be my main breeders this year.
How do they breed with that much fluff? Do you clip around their vents? - Alley
 
They breed just like all other chickens. And nope, I do not trim vents.


Thanks! I'm hoping to get a silkie hen soon and I was just wondering if all that feathering prevents them from being successful reproducers.
