Is it true that your show chickens need to live in cages at all times. Especially if they are white.

No. My birds all have their own coops and pens. After I bathe them before a show there is definitely a difference. When I put them back in their coops they are whiter than the others.

How do you harden up their droppings?

Feed scratch.

I don't have problems with my birds droppings and they do get a little scratch daily.

I start out with a 26% protein chick starter for the first couple of months then I switch over to Show Gold Grower, and during breeding season they get Breeder feed. During the summer months until they start to molt I give them layer because they don't need as much protein with the heat.

Just wondering because some of my hens In my egg flock and one in my breeder cage/pen has it firm hosting off roosts

It's made in Georgia and only available in the Southeast. I'm sure there are other companies that make show feed.
