Show quality chicks

One thing you might want to consider, is how dedicated to having QUALITY exhibition birds you like. Reason I say it that way, IF you do choose to show, most likely you will want to have a breeding program that has dozens of chicks to be raised up. Rarely breeders sell off their show winners. you might buy a bird that has alot going for him/her but there are a few faults to work out. And that means breeding at least a couple of dozen a year or more. And IF you choose to breed LF Cochins you will have some culling to do. Which means there will be some processing of some Cochins. I know some breeders who raise out near 400 birds a year. And those are the big Orpingtons. So, you might just want to do the Cochins. After a year or so. Once you built up your flock.

Superior Farms DOES have and breed show quality birds. They compete with their birds and have won SEVERAL shows.

A few years back I took a pullet from Urch/Turnland to the Ohio National & she was Reserve of breed in a class of 42 birds.
