I'm giving out Tony's info directly from the Sept. Poultry Press. He has been advertising about every other month. I should put my order in with him before you all get this info

For 2012 his SS were $7 per chick and his other chicken/chicks were $5. He has minimum orders for how many he will ship certain times of the year. I paid between $15 and $20 for shipping (think it was $17 but can't lay my hands on the ticket right now).

I got 2 pics of the new pair. So far, she hasn't laid and is not interested in the male.

To me, the female has great type, a great head and has great color. She is a little dark at the moment but will get whiter as she gets older. She's only 6 months.

The male is way too dark, but has excellent type and a fairly compact comb. Very sweet male, not flighty and not willing to attack. Sorry about the quality of the photos. They are in the isolation cage away from the light.

Are bantam Speckled Sussex allowed to be discussed in here?

I just bought a pair and am hoping for eventual insight once they start breeding.
Sorry, I missed this post

Of course you can discuss Bantam Speckled Sussex. Don, Snowbird, is very experienced with the bantams

I'm STRICTLY a large fowl girl, but I will try to help you out as much as possible.

I would love to see some more photos once they are out of isolation.... Congratulations on acquiring the bantam SS... Are they your first SS?

Although I have never seen standard SS at the chicken shows I have been to, I have seen bantams. I will have to see if I can dig out the photos of the ones I took at Lake City, FL Jan 2012.
