show quality speckled sussex ??

My Black Orpington show and breeding rooster died today :( He has taken a few class champions, best of breed, best of varieties, and just came home from getting Champion English at Puyallup. It appears to have been a bad accident. I'm hoping that one of the 5 juveniles I have from him and my two best hens turns out to be a rooster! Looks like maybe ONE is. I'm currently sorting out all of the eggs from the last 4-5 days that were in the fridge and will collect the ones from my show hens that were in with Jackson for the next 4-5 days. I do appreciate poultry fertility. They are ALL going in the incubator! This is all I feel I can do to save my breeding program at this moment. I was even starting to plan out my breeding pens for next year along with the next two shows :( :( :( Hope I get at least 5 more chicks 10 would be better! This is 2 years worth of work and planning. :(
I found him when I was out getting photos of my SS and a few others. I opened the door to get some photos of his juvenile and saw one of the nest boxes upside-down. I saw my three hens but not Jackson. I slowly moved the next box expecting him to erupt out from under it. He was inside but upside-down as well and stiff!

I'm trying to work through this and not be too upset. I'll try to post photos tonight. I'm sorting the eggs still. They had to warm up so I can see the real color. Then they will sit out overnight to come up to a good temp. Then before I leave at 6 AM I will put them in the bator.

This in Orange #78
She took Best of Breed & Variety, Champ. English, Best Large Fowl and Best of Show at the Cowlitz County Fair. That is my local county fair

She took second pullet at the Southwest WA Fair, the county where I work for WSU Extension and 4-H.

At the Western WA State Fair she took first SS pullet, Reserve variety and reserve of breed behind my cockrel

I'm posting them in separate messages because each one has about 5 photos

Don't let the photos fool you. They were not happy with me and only a few of them were cooperating at all! These are all of Orange #78.

This is Orange #81 she has not been shown.

The two pullets that have not been shown I'm hoping to show next year as hens because they seem to have less white at this point in time.

End Orange #81

This is the guy I have decided to keep and I have been showing him. Blue #57

He was really NOT happy about being handled and it had just started raining.

He took a blue at Cowlitz County, with reserve variety and reserve SS after pullet #78
At Southwest WA Fair he got a blue, RV and RB after pullet # 80

At the Western WA State Fair he took blue, best variety and BB for Sussex. At the shows that they have been to, when they have been beet out for English Champ it has been by my Black Orpingtons!

Then we found his band around his foot funky, poor guy! Fixed it and put him back, Blue #57

Hope I don't get kicked off or in trouble for posting all of these in a row!

This is Orange #83
She has not been shown yet.

Some have black on there necks and I noticed that but did not realize how much black some of them have in their wings.

This is the cockrel and one of the pullets. They were holding their tails like normal and looked pretty good but I ran out of zoom on my camera.
