If theyre eating off the ground or you are feeding them meal worms or other non water soluble foods they'll need digestive grit (not oyster shell) to actually digest those things.

Shelly i may be wrong but it really looks like a coturnix just may be an odd pattern or maybe a jumbo brown bread with a pharoh. When i first saw the picture the colors have a gambal look to them but no head dress feathers or even the start of them. Im pretty sure it is two color combinations of the coturnix bread together. But dont quote me haha just my observation. Maybe ill see if i can remake tbe color and look if no one else has chimed in before my next batch starts breeding.

He doesn't have his all feathers in yet so he may change but you could be right. The person I got them from said they were blue faced or something like that.

It's a chinese blue breasted quail. Also called button quail, cbbq, or king quail.
