The ones that have the solid sides, not the all wire that fold up. I have a good size one that I'll use for transporting chickens, but would like to modify it if and or when needed for a sick/new chicken as a quarantine

I would transport a chicken in a solid-sided pet carrier, but I'd never want to raise them in one of those. If you have a sick chicken, you want to see it without having to pull it out of a carrier. It'll want to be able to see out too.

I have seen a couple of people having a medium-sized one for their bed, though.

To quarantine, we put them outside in a pen with a hutch or a shed away from the other chickens.

Sick chickens go in one of our brooders.

I agree with @Debbie292d. First off, a new chicken would not come onto my property so I would have no need to quarantine for that purpose. If one of my chickens became ill, there is no need to "quarantine" as such because all the other chickens would already have been exposed to whatever she has. But I might need to isolate her for treatment. So I would put her in a wire dog crate in the house so I could keep an eye on her. Like Debbie, if I had to take her to the vet I would use an enclosed cat carrier.
