Show Us Your Chicken Nipples!!!!!!

This maybe a stupid question but how would they know that it is water or use it when they never before. Is water dripping from it?
Want to make one for my chickens in the future but afraid they won't know what to do when the times comes.

I put them in with my day-old chicks (along with the regular waterers)and they took right to it. Once one started tapping, the rest seemed to join right in.

Yes!! I'm totally doing this with my next coop remodel!! I have only seen one system, using PVC piping, for horizontal dispersion. I've never seen it attached to the bottom of a bucket.. I may have to look into this further!!

I HATE changing the water everyday!

I'm going to order the 3 nipple set and make a 5 gallon bucket waterer. I will post pictures when I get it done.

This is my brooder; in the back is the nipple waterer attached to a plastic peanut butter jar. It's hung too low so I need to come up with something taller. I am working on a PVC version with two short pieces of 1" PVS pipe, two end caps, two nipples, a "T" split PVC, and a two liter bottle. I would have finished it today but I couldn't figure out where my wife stored the bag of nipples.

Just got done installing my new chicken nipples in the brooder for my cornish x .. they seem to be taking right to them
