Show your lavender Orpington mixes!

We got these lavender Orpingtons from Rural King about 10 days ago. Not sure what hatchery they come from. I would have rather had the buff variety but they only had straight runs in the lavender variety, so I got a couple buff pullets and four straight run lavenders. The little gray ones are the lavenders most of the others are black Australorps that are a few days older.View attachment 2155355
They are adorable!!! I really like them.

I’m interested in this subject too. We recently got some straight run lavender Orpington chicks. The purpose was to get some roosters so we could raise our own chickens. I admit lavender wasn’t a choice I really wanted but the Orpington breed was one that I considered and a store had them so lavender Orpingtons it is.
If I understood everything that I gathered from the hatchery I purchased our chicks from as well as all my research if you can prove you have what you say you do then your beautiful rooster - and personally I think he is a handsome dude- then you should be able to get quite a few dollars and cents for your chicks. The asking prices just on the internet alone are quite high. That doesn’t always mean you will get it but the Orpingtons are such docile calm breeds which are good for 4H and show projects that they are sought after right now especially for startups like our family simply for the Covid-19 scare alone. People are concerned about shortages of food and where there food is going to be coming from and if it is going to even be available in the future. I wanted to have a breed that would be hardy and comfortable with me and I it as a first timer with kids. I’m satisfied so far. Our Legbars and Flower Hens so far are the bravevest but all are friendly. As for babies these Orpingtons are doing great.

Well, I didn't do much research on them as chicks and I went to a breeder today to pick up 3 pullets because she "swears by her sexing technique" *insert eyeroll* But I'm pretty sure she sold me some crosses... they are darker than the light grey that LOs are as babies... and their faces are golden... so I'm wondering if they are BO and LO mixes... aww hell.. I'm sad :hit
