I have a showgirl rooster that needs a home as soon as possible. I have been told that he has the naked neck and the frizzled feather gene which is why he looks so unique. I was really hoping he was a girl but he started crowing this morning for the first time, so definitely a rooster. I am willing to deliver within a reasonable distance. I just want him to go to a good home because he is such a special breed.

I am in Sarasota county!

HES SO CUTE!!!!!! I would take take him, but I don’t live in Florida, but I hope I don’t end up in this situation, my roo is being picked on and I hope I can keep him, he is isolated right now

Take that picture of him, and make a poster. The poster should read, "Awesome rare breed cockerel, needs a new home!"

Then, put your email address on some little tear away tabs at the bottom. Hang the poster on your front yard fence or mailbox. Make it large enough so people driving by can see it.

This is what I did to find homes for two cockerels. They were adopted within two weeks. One went to our county agriculture inspector, the other to some friends of our neighbors. Both adopters emailed me pictures of the boys with their new flocks.

It's true someone can have other intentions for the rooster, but, you'll meet them and decide for yourself, if they seem OK.

Your cockerel is so special, only someone who enjoys poultry will most likely take him.

You can also put some posters at the local feed/farm stores. Sometimes old school methods work better. :old

God Bless :)
