Showgirl thread- for posting pictures and discussing breed!

I'm in too !!! How many can we enter ? One for each catagory ?

Did anyone see Jimmy Kimmel Live last night ? He had a white showgirl chicken on there.

They blind folded Geeairmo and were putting animals on his head and made him guess what it was. The first animal they put up there was a Non Bearded White Showgirl. I think it was a hen.

I'm hoping people liked them, maybe it will help promote the breed.

Hi im new to showgirls and i was wondering if anyone could tell me at what age do the males start to try and mount the hens. i have 1 roo who is 6 months old and is in with laying hens and i haven't seen him attempt to mount or woo the hens. He also hasn't crowed yet. I don't see any of the hens picking on him. i have seen 1 hen who likes to be around him and will follow him around.
Thanks for the help

Give him a a few more months. some take longer to mature. If you have another rooster to put with him he may show off. but I've also seen them stay silent just to stay out of the way of a older rooster. you will know by 9 mos.

Thank you. i dont have any other roosters so he just must be a quiet one. which is god since im not too sure how well my neighbors would like a loud one :)

Hi All! I currently have Silkies, but love, love, LOVE Showgirls!! I just had a disappointing hatch with some Showgirl eggs that I bought from ebay (2 silkies, 1 showgirl that died immediately after hatching). SO...I would love to get some Showgirl chicks. I live in Central Ohio if someone is local and/or doesn't want to ship. Please let me know if you know of anyone with SG chicks they would like to part with...they would be spoiled SENSELESS, of course! Thank you!
