Showgirl thread- for posting pictures and discussing breed!

Here are the pictures of the 6 pullets and 1 cockerel that will be available at fowl-fest. unless someone comes along before the end of the week. they very in age .as you can see by their size.

This one i am so tempted to keep..

Below are the two hens that will be in the show but also for sale..

I have had a lot of calls on these birds from people in the state who live two to three hours away, but they have yet to show up at my door. I have told them about the show, which for them my be closer. so there may be a good turn out for anyone selling SG's at the show.

Excellent! So glad to hear that there were more Silkies and SGs...I love to see the SGs growing in popularity. And CONGRATULATIONS on your win! Awesome!!

Question...My 2 bowtied SGs produced a non-bearded Silkie. Is there a combo that would work in breeding her to get a NN showgirl? Unfortunately (actually, fortunately in the long run) I only have one NN Showgirl and she's also a hen. I really don't have a use for this non-bearded silkie in my program if there isn't a chance of getting a NN from breeding her...a bummer since she has great feet, feathering and good wings (so far - she's on her teen molt). Any suggestions?

when you breed Nn to Nn you can get silkies and yes if both parent had one gene for bearded and one for non beared it realy maters if your breeding for Nn = with bowtie or NN no bowtie

Both of the parents are bowtied and have produced, overwhelmingly, bowtied showgirls (12). So far I have 2 silkies from this pairing, the one non-bearded pullet and another chick that is too young for me to figure out (3 days old). My goal would be a showgirl without a bowtie...would this silkie pullet fit into that goal at all?
Thank you so much!!
