Showgirl thread- for posting pictures and discussing breed!

Here is my red partridge showgirl roo flame. He loves the women more then any roo I've met. The girls not so much...

I actually have a partridge who has a lot of color that could only be called red It is brighter than buff and completely different in color. I will try to take a pic over the weekend. If I can get the right lighting. Really was surprising but the older she gets the more redder she gets. I have a roo that carries the autosomial gene red which I suspect it came from.

I wasn't saying there aren't reds, just that none of mine are. :) This picture where they're all running towards me shows the colors better, the sun really tweeked the colors in the second picture.
(L-R) white, partridge, buff, blue, white, black. The black still looks a little weird but not as different as the other picture. :)

They look so cute running across the yard :) I thought the black one looked really reddish too, must have been the sun hitting her feathers just right. Such a pretty little flock! Lots of colors. Jen, You were right about my light chicks with peachy stripes, they are turning solid white. Yay! I was really hoping for some whites to put with my paint SG roo. Now crossing fingers there is a girl or two in there. Although not sure about keeping the roo for a long time, he is sooo pretty, but getting soooooo loud. So early in the morning too  We started putting him in the garage at night, he is not too happy about that.

I have 2 hens that color it is either a blue with red leakage or a very light blue partridge. I have heard it called both.

My husband was pleased his name was catching on!

I love that soft fussy color they look so whimsical.

Question: My paint showgirl Roo is mating with my (orange with black tail and wingtips) NN turken. Her eggs are fertile so wondering about babies what kind of bird would I likely get NN or SG? Anybody tried this before?

I'm guessing it will look like a small turken. Most silkie genes ( toes feathers black skin etc) are ressessive or at leat need to be reinforced to show.

Thanks for the input! If we try to hatch some I will post what we get. I am thinking until my silkie and SG chicks grow out so I can tell who are the females to put with my roo---I might put with him my black frizzle. Her daddy was a sizzle, so she has five toes and feathered feet already. And carries some of those fun genes, maybe I will get something interesting with those two as well :)
