oh ok! does the skin and feather color have somethng to do with the gender?

on thinner skinned or lighter skined boys you can see more of the red boys ger from extra blood in the neck and wattles. A Black chicken that starts to developing pink on the neck its likely male.

I love them. What kind of bird did the frizzle gene come from?

I have a frizzled Silkie Blue roo that began three generations back...he is a perfect silkie in all ways other than frizzle---I am not positive but I think the breeder that I got him from may have gotten him at a show of some sort so not sure where it came from originally. The only genetic deviation I have run into at all is the toe spacing, I get the fourth and fifth growing somewhat together once in a awhile, like in the pic below...but pretty great most of the time. They have gotten really rare in this last generation I am hatching currently.

The Roo that brought the frizzled gene into my flock when I started. He looks more flat in this picture he was pretty curly, I think this was taken post molt before they were fully grown in.
