I've hatched two cuckoo showgirls in the past two months. Talk about cute!
Ok, so I see people again referencing f-10, f-12, f-whatever.... thing is, it can be F-100,000,000 but if the breeding choices were made poorly it will not matter. Make your breeding choices by the bird's quality, without thinking about how many times the showgirl-type birds have been bred back to silkies. Some lines and some birds are at a point where showgirl to showgirl breedings can be done (making homozygous showgirls) without detriment to type. Sheryl Butler got BV at the Western Silkie National with a white homozygous showgirl pullet. Very nice bird, and definitely showgirl to showgirl breeding. PS. She can't tell you the generation of her birds (the F-whatever). I will tell you they are nice birds, regardless.
