Showgirl thread- for posting pictures and discussing breed!

Pics
I've hatched two cuckoo showgirls in the past two months. Talk about cute!

Ok, so I see people again referencing f-10, f-12, f-whatever.... thing is, it can be F-100,000,000 but if the breeding choices were made poorly it will not matter. Make your breeding choices by the bird's quality, without thinking about how many times the showgirl-type birds have been bred back to silkies. Some lines and some birds are at a point where showgirl to showgirl breedings can be done (making homozygous showgirls) without detriment to type. Sheryl Butler got BV at the Western Silkie National with a white homozygous showgirl pullet. Very nice bird, and definitely showgirl to showgirl breeding. PS. She can't tell you the generation of her birds (the F-whatever). I will tell you they are nice birds, regardless.

yes the showgirls seem to have lil longer neck then the silkies due to the mixxing in of the turken

i understand that but my chicks arent showgirls they are regular silkies hatched from showgirl eggs. is the longer neck still passed on with out being showgirl?

Are your silkies non bearded? Because the non bearded always look like they have longer necks...lol
