he has one gene for beared one for non neared so only half is be beared

I just set some showgirl eggs today! I have whites, lavs & black/lav split!

I can't wait!

Sorry for this ignorant question, what happens when you breed a silkie with a show girl? Is a certain percentage of the offspring show girls and other silkies? Or does it not work like that.

Also wanted to add since I love to think in %'s...

Clean neck X Clean neck = 100% Clean necks (Non-bowtied)
Clean neck X Bowtie = 50% Bowties, 50% Clean neck
Clean neck X Silkie = 100% Bowties
Silkie X Bowtie = 50% Silkies, 50% Bowties
Bowtie X Bowtie = 50% Bowties, 25% Clean necks, 25% Silkies

I am still learning the chicken genetics but since the silkie would not have any NN or Nn gene, wouldn't you still get silkie chicks or does the NN cancel the non NN or Nn out in the offspring?

NN+nn=Nn
NN has 2 genes
nn silkie
Nn has one gene
Nmeans they show naked neck

I had posted that before I had seen you % post. So, I can assume when my silkie boy mated my turken girls, they are pure for NN since all the chicks came out with bowties. Is that correct?
