Thank you! I sold the white sg and kept the young blu and partridge sg. Have white and partridge silkies to cross them with. I cannot wait to see what I get, I might be able to figure it out using the genetics thread? but I am not sure of the silkies genetics. The white silkie I believe came from the partridge roo and a partridge hen? but I was not keeping eggs separate and it could have came from the white sg and splash as I understand you can get silkies from that cross that carry the sg gene? I really need to take the time to look into the genetics.
Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain how to get rid of red combs in SG? I have 3 I hatched out, one hen and two Roos, I think. They are almost 13 weeks old. It's raining here so I will post pics later. They all have red combs and wattles. If I match them up with a silkie hen with black, how many generations will will I have to breed, and how do I go about it, to end up with black combs and wattles. They are beautiful, no doubt. They have great crests that are already very large. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
