My first showgirl

I bought eggs on e-bay from Watson Ridge Ranch, and found out she is a member of BYC.
Won 6, 7 shipped, ALL fertile, 1 had a ruptured airsack, and blood ring, and all other 6 are good!
Incredible for shipped eggs!!!! So far 2 have hatched, waiting for the others.

Here's a secret... If you go to their website, they have a set price, which was less than the price I paid on e-bay!
Oh, the thrill of the bid! Check it out, tell Dawn I recommended her on BYC.
I believe her name here is MaransMomma, although it looks like she isn't on much.
I am just amazed the USPS didn't do the usual treatment!

Hello everyone

Seems like I haven't been on this thread in forever...lol...Have been working my fluff butt off this last year trying to raise and breed some new colors of Silkies and Showgirls. So far this year I have Lavender (now fertile) and Paint Silkies (very fertile)......and yea!!!!! I have a couple of Paint Showgirls laying. I just put 5 of the Paint SG's eggs in the bator today to test for fertility so am crossing my fingers for the next 5 to 7 days.

BTW...I'm looking for very nice white Silkie roo, I want to add another white roo to a breeding pen.
I would also be interested in a couple of black Silkie hens.Must have good dark color skin and proper toes. If anyone has any of the above send me a PM.

Hey Roberta, CONGRATS on the first SG!! Cute little bugger. I will be looking for Splash, Black, and Partridge NN breeding age cockerels this spring! Can't believe I am actually looking for more roos!!

Yes, a cutie. I noticed when giving kisses that he/she has more than the NN, that the belly fluff and the back fluff is also surrounded by a naked row of skin. I never knew that, or am I just stoopid?
It figures I traded some very nice black pullets for some Paint chicks. But I can always make more!
This is so much easier than those Marans.....and easier on my brain, too.
Even the roos are pleasant compared to the big guys!

Hey guys! do yall remember my old showgirl roo Petey? well the lady i gave him to kept him in a pen with a white and a black silkie. (he was silver columbian-ish). And now i am extra confused as to what color his babies are! the blacks or blues are obvious but what color are the little chipmunky guys?
