Oh wow I also have a silkie cross bcm also a rooster but he’s a nice one all the hens likes him .. but geez it crows all the time he’s about to be chicken soup soon if he doesn’t stop but it sucks having more rooster then hens from a hatch .

My roosters are really nice,but his are a little mean to his kids

Mine was my baby from day1, I held him daily with lots of hugs and kisses. Yes, you are right it does depend on the individual, I should have said that. sorry you had bad luck with your boys

Raised ours the exact same way, funny enough our nicest silkie was raised from a broody xD I've known plenty of nice ones but not all are, plus when they hit adulthood hormones' can change a little roo! Good luck everyone : D

I never have a bad silkie roo yet they seem pretty nice too me I have a aloha roo once he was straight up mean !!
