Showing deathlayers??

This is my pair I adore them. Maybe I’ll hatch some of their chicks and handle them to get used to people, and train them to be show birds. I think my pair is too old to train at this point

This limits you to basically county fairs if they allow unrecognized breeds.

Do you have kids in 4H? There are usually 4H classes for clean legged layers and feather footed layers. These generally allow crosses. If all else fails, enter your eggs. DLs are supposed to be awesome in the egg department!

I’ve never shown before and want to enter my deathlayers. However, I have ZERO idea what the standard is, what judges look for and ever HOW to show. Can someone pleeaasseeee help? I don’t have any good photos of my rooster right now, and he isn’t too keen on being held. Is there a way I can teach him to calm down and let me handle him better? I’d like to enter him, my hen is a little rough right now. I really need to get a saddle on her lol

I am coming in to this late.. . U could always show them and they would judge just your birds and you could see which ones are the best of yours...but they won't have a chance of placing anything over that because they are not an accepted breed in the standard. They are pretty though!...and I have never seen this breed before.
