Showing Geese at Fair Questions

The questions about what they were going to be exposed to were the first out of my mouth, believe me. I don't have the Oxine yet but I'm thinking that tomorrow I will order it and get it here as fast as I can. The fair is the week of the 20th, I have some time left. I'll find the Nutri drench as well. I so totally agree with you about the Bio security Miss Lydia. After everything we've gone through here with Marek's and Cocci with the chickens, I am not going to take any chances. At All!!

I think the only thing that would change my mind now is if the geese and ducks totally freak. Or if someone tries to hurt my animals. Then I would freak. I used to do craft and trade shows and I know how John Q can be at times. Most people are nice and good and are truely interested is seeing the animals. Then there are those...

Thanks so much for the help and good words Miss Lydia. I really can't tell you all how much the help and calming words have helped.
Your welcome, and I hope you take lots of pics. I'd love to see them. There's a Mountain Fair going on close to us this week, I want to go to see all the animals.

I'll really try to get the pictures. Usually I am so busy I don't take the time to get that done. I haven't been to a fair since my son was in Jr. High. He's soon to be 27 sooooo let's see........that was a couple of days ago, at least. Isn't it funny how we evolve? Me thinks the powers that be are leading me down a path I never would have envisioned for myself when I was younger.

I probably should start a new thread for this but I want to share...yesterday husband and I went to visit friends who just had some pigs born. Yup, in 8 weeks I'll be the proud momma of a breeding pair of piggies! Lol.

Thanks again Miss Lydia and oh, I saw the thread of the duck pics. That is a beautiful duck! I really never knew that the muscovies looked that good. Catalog pics just never showed how nice looking the bird really can be.

Thanks about pic and congrats on the new little piggies. Don't think I could talk hubby into that one. LOL

Husband made the decision about them. We raised two pair last year for the freezer and we both fell in love with them. Smart and loving animals and they do not smell either if you take care of them. I've been trying to find a Poland China pig but no luck so this little spotted guy will do for now.

UPDATE ON THE FAIR

I won't be bringing my geese or ducks to the fair. I guess the person who tried to get me into this wasn't aware that they really didn't need mine to fill a catagory. They still want my dark cornish and one male bronze standard turkey. In a way I am very relieved. Don't get me wrong, I like my chickens and turkeys. Very much, but it's nothing like how I feel about the ducks and geese. I had some real concerns about taking them and now that's a moot point.

Sounds like it worked out for the best. Now your going to have to go to Backyard Herds when you get your pigs. lol

Really! Lol, ya know, this is getting serious....I may have to have my head examined soon.
