Showing off my new Welsummer rooster

He came from Whitmore Farm http://whitmorefarm.com/ originally, bought as a day-old last April. I traded a hen for him, since the family who had him had too many roosters. He's named Jonah; I told my mom I like naming roosters Biblical names, she went through a bunch of names, and according to her, he perked up his head when she said Jonah.

I've never had a Welsummer before, nor a breeder quality bird. He is pretttyyy.





Anybody care to chime in on his adherence to the SOP? I'm not at all planning on showing, or even breeding him to purebred Welsummers, but I am interested in knowing how good he looks

I know nothing about Welly's other than the fact that they're beautiful birds.

Nice tail carried high (most of the ones I have seen carry their tails more like the German type, and not like ours). Not enough brown mottling in the black, and the wing looks a bit strange.
