Shows near Eastern, TN

Most of the people in the east tn group try and meet up at both the spring and fall shows at cocke county. Many attend others as well of course, but for our area the little "something to crow about" show is a big deal. I guess it does'nt take much, LOL
As far as your question....a list of who is showing is not available until the evening before at the location. And that list does not necessarily mean those people are breeders...only showing.
I started this thread exactly for that reason though. I was hoping it would start with the east tn group folks listing what they might be bringing and might catch on to others as well.
If you visit the middle tn thread or any other local threads..you might want to mention this thread also. Out of the regulars that come I know that Lori almost always has D uccles and sometimes other bantams. I'm not sure what Terri is bringing this time, but she has had silkies and show girls in the past as well as some orps I think. Daph usually has something along the lines of Ameraucanas, Cochins, or Orpingtons (but Im not sure if she has gotten away from some of those breeds or not) I will have EE's and OE.'s this time. If Contrast is able to make it I am willing to bet she brings either eggs or chicks from her Swedish Flower Hens.

A lot of bantams are usually scattered around, but I have also seen a few interesting projects and fertile eggs of various breeds as well.
Yep....I will have quite a few D'Uccles, Show Girl Silkies, a few OEs,Goober the Lav. juvenile roo, and I may have a couple crele polish that I am not going to use in my project and some left over blue marans.. Any of mine are available now because I REALLY need the space to get ready for winter. Most of what I will have at the show are already juveniles and breeding age, POL.

Oh...I am also going to have (I hope) hen house sized quilt "signs"like the ones people put on barns....for sale. If anyone wants custom I am going to offer that as well if they order before the show. When I get a couple done will post them.

yes... please get a pic up asap of one of those. I am very interested how they are turning out. I am def. willing to bet we will want to order one. I just have to talk to Megan and ask her input on a color or two.

BTW I finally found some good looking Jap bantam stock and the owners just put the roo back with the hens so they can hatch us a couple eggs for Megan. Looks like she will be showing japs by next year I guess

Please forgive me folks, but the ignorance of a rookie poultry fan is about to rear its large feathered head.....

These poultry shows....are they just shows? Are there sales? Are there chicks, adults, supplies, coops or what here? I have shown dogs for years, but (hopefully) the Dixie Classic will be my first poultry show to go to. So help a girl out and give me the scoop. Pretty please.

Thank you and maybe I will get to actually see/meet some of you there.

Some shows allow selling, especially the smaller local ones. Cocke County held in Newport, Tn. allows selling. You just have to get there early enough to get a good parking spot and get set up.
Dixie Classic held at Knoxville allows selling also but space is more limited if you are not pre-registered to sell. Cocke County will have more birds for sale (at least they did last year).

Are you in East, TN?

Yes, I am in upper east TN. I plan on going to the Knox show. I want to see what is out there to buy. I am finishing up my coop/pen and want to see if I can find some pullets or even adults to get going with since its getting so cool out. I am looking for Silkies and Golden Buff/Comets (whatever you want to call them) but I need hens...no roosters yet for me. I am new to this and hope I don't embarrass myself with my newbish-ness here. I am trying to learn all I can from you hands-on folks.
