Shrink wrapped ducks?? What should I do?

700

We had to get up at 1am and check on this sweet girl, but after that, all was well! I overslept this morning but she was just hanging out in the bator. Dry but maybe a little weak. We blu-kote'd her up and put her in the brooder for some company. She's doing great!

Here they are, all together :) and my little one loving on Blue. There's no way I can keep them all but the ones I can't keep will go where I can visit them. I am going to try to talk hubby into two. I've got to check my HOA first to see what restrictions are. Blue has a special place in my heart and SO much personality already so she's definitely one we will keep.

So... Tell me all about what I need to keep ducks.. As of now we have no birds.. So I'm clueless!

OMG...dying!!!! So cute and so much fun for your kiddos!!!! I am in an HOA, so definitely check their bylaws first...usually there is specifications for noise and how far they are kept from property lines. If it is a go there..then just check city ordinances...you can look it up on line

Especially after all the loving care you have given them! It is really special to be able to keep little ones you have hatched yourself!

By the way.ALHmama...rehoming the ducklings you can't keep to somewhere you can visit them is awesome!!! I did that with a little black silkie bantam I had to rehome and it helps a lot!!! She is doing great and has hatched out her first babies!!!!!!!

LOL and the disease has entered the body

How soon can I tell if these are boys/girls? I noticed today that a few from the first hatch still have a scab on them...is that normal? Should I do another dab of blu-kote on them?
