Tell us a little about your hatch, what day are you on? How long has the chick been pipped? What is your humidity at? Have other chicks hatched? How many are left still hatching? Did you widen the pip hole or has it been pecking at the same spot repeatedly?

Day 22 of hatch 6 of 11 have hatched. It piped this hole noon yesterday. It wasn’t that big until about noon today. But the white outer membrane was Covering it completely I did not see any tiny hole in it. So I did open the white membrane. I didn’t take it out of the incubator to do this and the humidity I have kept high around 70% just in case. It has dropped one time to about 60% when I opened the incubator. It does not look like it has room to move in the inner membrane. But it doesn’t look super tight around it ? But when you see a normal hatch you don’t even see the inner membrane . I think I worry because it was close to the edge when I remove some of the chicks To put them in the brooder Yesterday. But I did not realize that we had pip’d Because the PIP was face down. So now I worry that because yesterday I took out the babies and didn’t know it had pip’d Maybe it’s shrink wrapped. But I’m not really sure what that looks like

The membrane usually starts to look brown when the chicks are shrink wrapped. I can't see inside well enough to know what color you're seeing but it is normal for the interior membrane to be close to the chick. If the chick starts to peck repeatedly at the same spot but isn't turning to zip like you will normally see with a chick zipping that's usually a sign that the chick is stuck. Right now it sounds like your chick may still be working on absorbing the blood vessels and yolk sac so you don't want to assist too early if that's the case but these are some great articles to look over if you do decide the chick requires assistance. Good luck with the rest of your hatch!
