My girls do it too. Mostly my Barred Rock. My neighbors haven't complained yet. Besides even if they did my girls are only loud between legal hours.

Mine usually crank up around 0745 for a few minutes. If I get lazy and don't open the run door so they can run the back yard they get all sorts of upset about 0630.

I think I've got them trained to squawk when the door is closed.
Or they got me trained to open the door when they squack!

Some of my girls are very loud when they lay there eggs!! It scared my at first thought somthing was eating them.

. Now I just smile because I know they are bragging about what they have done. I also wonder if they do it because I come out with BOSS.

I can't imagine turning down fresh eggs. My kids are all on a list to have them. They say they taste so good and much better than store bought. But to each his own!

I had the same issue yesturday, it sounded like someone had a foot caught in a door or something terrible had happened. I ran out in my pj's to find our little RIR Ruby talking to herself. She kept it up all day and got the other girls going as well. I think it is a girl thing, emotions were flaring for some reason!

OUR eggs also are orange instead of yellow!!!
