Sick 23 week old hen

Ty for the tips.. shes a jersey giant, all black too.. I'll make lots of mud puddles for her. There hasn't been anymore eggs.. it's been 2 days, her crop feels funny too.. like a soft ball

Is she laying? If so, has she laid any soft-shell eggs recently?

Have you checked her crop? Is it full and squishy or full with hard lumps? Or is it empty? Can you check it again first thing tomorrow morning to see if it empties overnight?

Heat sickness is an obvious possibility. Begin by giving her electrolytes, even if all you have is Gatoraid. An electrolyte imbalance during hot weather can strike chickens very quickly. They revive just as quickly if given electrolytes.

She likely has sour crop. That's a yeast infection, and it saps the appetite and makes a hen feel miserable. Untreated, the chicken can starve since they do not want to eat.

The treatment is an anti-yeast medicine such as miconazole. You can get it over the counter in the pharmacy section of the store where women's hygiene products are shelved.

Here's my article on how to treat crop disorders. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/
