I went out to check on the chicks this morning. They were fine last night. No one has handled them since. I found a 3 week old unable to walk, beak pointing to his butt, head laying on his back. I have given him water. I am completely lost on what is wrong. Any ideas?

I believe your chick has wry neck, unfortunatley I do not know much about this condition here are some links to some reading you can try on it though:

I think some of the biggest things are to dip her beak in water instead of eye dropping it, I would also try adding molasses and the herbs listed on the site in her diet.
...For further reading just search for "wry neck in chicks" I really hope your chick gets better, its adorable!:hugs

If the chick has wry neck or encephalomalacia, it can be treated with vitamin E 400mcg and some chopped egg or tuna which contain the mineral selenium. Wry neck can e inherited, caused by a head injury, or a vitamin deficiency. It is seen in older chickens due to infectious diseases that affect the brain and nerves. Getting enough food and water will be a challenge, and you may need to feed and water the chick every 2 hours. Chopped almonds, spinach, wheat germ, sweet potato, palm or olive oil, and sunflower seeds are good sources of vitamin E, but be careful of feeding too much to a young chick. Grit for chicks should be provided. Here are 4 good articles to read:

Edited to say that I am sorry that you lost the chick.
