Hi
I have no prior knowledge at raising chicken
I have got a hen from my cousin som 2 3 months ago just begun it's white coat at that time. any ways it's is home indoor raised. becouse we're traveling next week we tried to get her with the neighbors chicken outdoor coop it was som 5 10 degrees c 4 days ago, she got bad treatment from the roster and came back 2 days ago. I saw her more lethargic with open beak seems to be in pain and seems to have high temperature her poop seems runny sometimes and regular sometimes.
We are thinking of euthanizing if she stays that way.
She is 4.5kg so I think overweight
Her comb us red and standing
No strange smell from her mouth
Less appetite but eats and poops
A black sore on back of the leg put Vaseline on it and bandages
Sound out of breath when speaks
Open beak seems to struggling breathing
Gave her a bath yesterday thinking it's egg binding som olive oil in the rear
Calcium 500mg tablet solved I water and tried feeding her with a syringe
Gave here electrolyte water sugar salt and baking soda
Gave her panodil headache tablet solved in water she seems to get a little better but goes back after 1 2 hours
Please help fast I have bin nursing her sinns yesterday i really appreciate your reply
Sorry if these symptoms have bin talk about but I have bin reading sins yesterday

Thank you

More than likely it picked up some diseases your neighbors chickens carry. Also the stress of the whole change probably didn't help. Some respiratory infections run their course an others require antibiotics.

I gave her one tablet of human har antibiotic yesterday should i give her more? She is getting more and more tired sometimes standing gasping for air walking a little than ploping down again
What should I do is what I am doing enough? i don't plan on going to a vet
And don't have access to chicken medicine thank you for your answer

Panadol looks to be acetaminophen or Tylenol, and I would not use that anymore. Aspirin is okay in chickens--1 baby aspirin up to twice a day.

What is the name of the antibiotic you gave her?

Is her crop or crawl empty, full, hard, soft, or puffy? Check it first thing in the morning before she has eaten.

I would try to get her drinking water. She could have been injured, or she picked up or brought with her an illness. Coccidiosis could be a problem with the diarrhea. A respiratory disease may be possible. Does she have any watery eyes, nasal drainage, cough, sneeze, or rattle when she breathes. Any blood in her droppings?

It can take some time and observation to figure out what is going on, but try to get her eating and drinking. If you suspect coccidiosis, you could buy some Corid and start it in the water for 5-7 days. Dosage is 1 1/2 tsp of the powder or 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water.

Give her some time alone to rest, separated from her flock in a crate with her own food and water. Check her over for lice and mites. Offer some chopped egg or tuna with her usual feed.

She is an only home raised chicken
She have clear eyes she dosnt have any watery eyes, nasal drainage, cough, sneeze not sure, I'm not sure about whizzing but straind breathing with beak open and seems to be gasping a little.
She eats drinks and poops but less appetite. Dosnt only have diarrhea but normal ones as well no blood that I have seen.
And the other thing the whole family is traveling next week.
I have aspirin for adult lying around somewhere and gonna check the name for the antibiotics in the morning
Thank you for you fast reply

Hi
The panodil is based on paracetamol
And the antibiotics name glomox it says it contains amoxicillin and amoxicillin rehydrate.
Her crop is squishy but she is pooping
i can send a picture if you want.
I uploaded a picture of her leg and of her face wondering if it's color is normal.
Thanks again
