sick acting bourbon red

i have a six month old bourbon red that is acting a bit sick. kinda slugish, laying around alot. eating and drinking. he does have some green poo hanging from is bottom feathers.he is not blocked up that i can tell. i did deworm with wazine 17 12 days ago. everyone has seemed fine until now. chickens, guineas, and turkeys all free range where ever they want to go, outside the two strand hot wire. i have lost two hens already and i dont want to loose anymore. this one i hatched and raised, the others that died i bought a couple months ago. anyone with any ideas.

Did you see any worms before you wormed them? First thing isolate the hen in a small pen so you can get a good look at the poo and make sure she is eating, Check for mites - in the "arm pit" area of the wings, tail and vent area. Keep her eating, hard boiled eggs ( lots of protien,) fresh greens (always good for them). Green watery poo is bad and usually comes from a respritory issue- listen to her breathing and let me know how that sounds. Put her beak in your ear to listen and listen to her back between the wings. Their lungs are high in the back just under the backbone. The beak will tell you whats going on in the sinus and throat and the back will tell you if it's down in the lungs.

this is a young tom i hatched and raised. the other two hens that died that were bought elsewhere, one i doctored for a sinus infection, cleared it up and then it died. the other just looked down one day and dead the next. he is eating, and drinking. i did pick him up but i didnt hear anything in his sinus, but i wasnt listening for that either. i dewormed them just as a precaution. i am new to having turkeys, and i am begining not to enjoy having them around. they are a blast to have around as long as there happy and alive. i have tylan 50 i will start giving him in the am. i will check for mites. thanks

Some of the first chickens I ever had would sometimes start looking sleepy and droopy so I had my Grandfather come over and he ruffled back the feathers and they were crawling with mites. They were sucking the bird dry, it would get weaker and weaker and die. When you picked the turkey up was it real skinny?

he is skinny. didnt see any lice,mites. never had a mite or lice problem, so not sure of what i am looking for. i didnt see anything moving or crawling. gonna try wazine 17 next. and seven dust the coop.

If I could make a recomendation pick up a copy of the Chicken Health Handbook by Gail Dammerow. It covers feeding, sickness, mites etc etc. There is alot of good info in there.
