I am not sure what happened. I’ve recently been going through a divorce so I wasn’t there to care for my animals. My ex family at the time were. I do not believe they were fed properly. So I was hoping it was just a niacin deficiency. I finally got my ducks and in their new pen they had actual space to roam. I noticed it kept falling and tripping easily while the other ducks were fine. The breed is Ancona. They are almost 4 months old. This one is the smallest and not nearly the size of the others. I wondered if the knee joint got pulled out of place. The knee joint looks bigger than the other. It cannot stand at all or walk. This is day 3. I’ve been giving it niacin and pain reliever. The joint isn’t hot to the touch or squishy from fluid. I hate to see it like this. I thought it was getting better but today I woke up to it popping it’s head and opening it’s beak. Please help. Thanks.

Welcome to BYC! Can you take it to a vet? It looks very sick, it's not waterproof, and because of that it should not be allowed to swim due to the risk of it getting waterlogged and hypothermic or waterlogged and drowning. :( Can you post another video of it out of the water with the sound on?

I will call the vets around here and see if they can use my care credit. The mic on my phone is broken but when my friend gets home I’ll use their phone. I put it in the water to show that it swims sideways as well. I won’t put it in the water anymore. The duck barely makes noise. More of a rasping sound.

So sadly no vets in my area or near me even see ducks. I didn’t want to have to do this, but since it seems not to be getting better I think I’m gonna have to put it down. I can’t stand to see it like this.

Sadly I have culled too. Sometimes it's for the best and stops all suffering..

Have u felt its crop? if its hard to mushy,?

I would try to help him. No loss to try.

Ide see if his crop is hard like its impacted and if not ide start feeding it sugar water and pedialyte and feed him pet bird food for cockateils (Tiny little peices high energy easy to eat and tasty) And give him VitaDrops or whatever bird daily vitamins they have

And keep him in a 2x2 box with towels in a quiet dark place.

But im no expert iam not even realy thats good its just what ide do.

Now of his crops impacted i have no idea what ide do!

Its a beautifull duck
