Sick Campine hen!

In case you're curious, 1/2 teaspoon Corid powder has the same amount of amprolium as 2.8125 ml of 9.6% liquid - Both have 270mg of amprolium.

You've been a lot of help but she's drinking some water now! I hope she gets better she was definitely in a better shape when I took her in

In addition to her medicated water, you can mix 1/2 teaspoon Corid with two teaspoons of water, stir well and give 0.4 ml per pound orally to her. If she'll eat the eats, sure, give them to her.

Is this liquid or powder measurements for the Corid?

It's for the powder, which is what I assumed you had since you said that you put 3 teaspoons Corid in 2 gallons. :D Do you have the liquid or powder?

-Kathy
Well you did an excellent job assuming cause yes I have the powder!

It's sad to say she died.

But with the rest treated and healthy I'm sure that that was the end of the plague, with only two casualties! Poor little hens. Rest in peace!
I don't understand why the medicine didn't kick in! Thank you so much for all the help!

I am sorry too. Unfortunately when start exhibiting behavior of Coccidiosis, it can often be too late since the damage is done to the intestinal tract. Recognizing early warning sign such as weight loss or failing to gain weight in young birds, and inspecting the condition of droppings daily, makes the difference. I use a preventative dose of Amprolium once a month for 5 days from 3-4 weeks of age until they are 9 months of age. I will do it beyond that in moist or humid conditions depending on the time of year. I don't let droppings accumulate under roosts by doing a quick pick up each morning. I keep the hen house well ventilated.
