Sick chick..Almost lifeless and is shaking I NEED HELP! SOON

no not really ... I suggest separating them as you shouldnt give cocci meds to symptom free birds (your adults)
I do not know the price of the cocci med at TSC as I live in holland

had an issue similar to this back in the spring, and more recently last week. Seemingly fine one day; weak and stumbling the next, finally gets to where they're sitting with both legs straight out in front of them, getting weaker, neck outstretched & head flat on the floor or bottom of hospital box. I just sent 3 OEGB BBreds to be necropsied at Breathitt Co. Ag lab.

I don't have full results back yet, but preliminary results DID show coccidiosis. There was never any runny or bloody poo; poo looked normal until they completely quit eating. Will be treating everyone with Sulmet and doing a pressure wash with Oxine on their house.

I am just so at a loss here i thought I was treating them for cocci..They eat their medicated chick starter...and I have been giving them...Aureomycin chlortetracycline souluble powder antibiotic it says its for eschericha coli me think this is cocci but now I don't think it is...UGH

I have lost 3 so far and prob a 4th by tomorrow before I can get back to the TSC. I am just wondering how much the sulmet is because money is tight right now...I have been so upset because I just keep having baby chicks to die. I lost one of my fav hens this week also think she died from a bad hen fight. After I got her necrosied back from my vet she had died from eating a balloon. This has not been a good week for me. I have been trying to build back my flock after having to sale most of my chickens due to personal reasons now this!!!!!!!! I have 20 eggs in the bator and 6 under a broody. I am now terrified i am gonna loose all my chicks.

oh dear... (((hugs))) .... the med starter is to help them deal with the cocci (ever present) but sometimes the amount in the environment overwhelms them (or the feed has been stored improperly or is old and therefore is not doing its job sufficiently) ...
What I do ( here in holland it is not allowed to put medication in the starter) when my hen is hatching (I do not have an incubator) is the moment the eggs start to hatch I immediately transfer mamma , eggs and hatched chicks to a new box (I use a low sided cardboard box as the nesting "box" > it is what apples and such are displayed in at the grocery store and are free) (thereby easily avoided contaminated nesting material from the time spent brooding)... this gives them a nice clean start (I also spray mammas butt with virkonS but that is difficult to come by in the USA I understand) ... I offer a live culture yogurt daily to the chicks from day one free choice... it is the first thing I dip their beak into (mamma slurps it up gladly also) and continue the free choice daily yogurt the first five weeks. I use paper towels the first few days and replace it at least twice daily the first two weeks.
I keep my mamma and chickies in a separate "broody/hatching" hutch (just a big ole rabbit hutch really) so the floor is off the ground.
I let mamma out to visit with the flock at regular interval during the day but I keep the chickies off the ground the first three weeks no matter how nice and warm it is outside.
I have never had a case of cocci... not saying this is entirely due to the above but it has worked for me.

Could it be dehydrated? Could it be too hot? Have you tried handfeeding cooked egg yoke and plain unsweetened yogurt? I had a chick that was on deaths door, not eating, lost weight, had eye peck injury. I don't know about his poop though. But right before he started to get better he was weak and shaking. He was standing, he actually refused to lay down for some reason. Now he is quite better. He ate yogurt and yoke barely at first now he eats a lot.

I went and got the sulmet and the chick has been on it for now 13 hours and already looks improved. The chick is no longer puffed up or droopy winged. I have my fingers crossed this little loner makes it! Thanks for everyones advice and for telling me about the sulmet.
