this little boy is not feeling very well.

He has very little energy to do much but just stand there and he kind of seems like he wants to heave.

He's about 2 and a half weeks old now. He's been living outside with 20 others in a makeshift 4 x 8 run with a cardboard box coop with a heat lamp in it.

The seem ok with temperature as it's dark out now and they are not all huddled up under it..

Anyone have any idea what might be wrong with him and what I can do to help make him better?

I would bring him inside and keep him warm. Give him some colloidal silver. It's natural and it worked for my chick, who was a LOT sicker than this. Make sure he is eating and drinking.

He's definitely eating and drinking. i have some really old colloidial silver in a spray bottle.. Guess I should try to find a syringe or something to squirt it in his mouth. the spray seems a bit drastic maybe.

How often do you clean the pen? How big is the brooder? What bedding are you using? How many chickens and what ages are staying in the brooder?

I would recommend against colloidal silver, the purity is variable and it could lead to heavy metal poisoning.

I have a 4' x 8' x 3' wood frame covered with chicken wire outdoors on the grass.

the box that they sleep in has pine shaving in it which i change whenever they have kicked enough out of it that it doesn't look comfy anymore.

It doesn't get that dirty because they have access to go out on the grass whenever they like.

There is a heat lamp in the box with them to keep them warm. they don't seem to be overly cold.

I also have a chick that isn't thriving. It acts sleepy and moves in slow motion. It's done this since I got it a couple weeks ago. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, but it hasn't grown at all compared to the other chicks I got at the same time. It still eats and drinks, but I am afraid one of these days I will just find it dead. The other chicks are doing fine and are active and growing.

The chicks are just a little over 2 weeks old and there is 15 of them now as i gave some away yesterday.

I have him in a small box in the house now and i put some poul-vite in his water dish.

I also poured the contents of the colloidial silver bottle in water dish as i figured it's already so dilute and it's just going into more water so i don't think it could hurt him more.

I've sprinkled some food on the floor of the box and he seems to be eating it.

he seeems more chirpy and a little less out of it than he did last night as well.

fingers crossed...

please feel free to give me any more suggestions or questions you might have.

thanks
