3 days ago I got a batch of 7 chicks of various breeds. All of them seem healthy, except one of my little Easter Eggers has been sleeping a lot more than the others. She otherwise seems healthy and will wake up for a little bit to eat and drink, but then she quickly falls back to sleep. Often I will find her standing and sleeping in the middle of the others eating very chaotically. She will get pushed around quite a bit by them scratching for food, but her eyes stay closed unless she falls over. If she does fall over, she just stands back up and resumes sleeping. It is very common for her to fall asleep within seconds after I pulled her out of the cage, even if she was just running from my hand. Also even when she is awake, she always looks like she is squinting and her eyes aren’t fully open. I have seen that lethargy could be a symptom of coccidia, but I don’t want to freak out and treat her if she doesn’t need it.
