I am a novice at raising chickens. I just got my first 4 chicks, and one now has a sore spot under his eye. The other chicks won't leave it alone and keep pecking at it. I've cleaned the area with warm water and applied a little neosporin. Any other suggestions? I also tried seperating the hurt one out, but he just sat there and yelled; didn't want to eat, sleep or drink, so I put him back with the other chicks.
Please help!

Hi,
I'm new to chickens too, I'd separate them but give the little fella a stuffed animal to snuggle with. That might help him cope a bit.
Good luck

Sometimes puffiness under the eye is a sign of upper respiratory infection. I would also separate the chick, both for its own sake (to keep the others from picking out it) and for the sake of the others (in case it's contagious). Just make sure the check is getting plenty of food and water. A little apple cider vinegar in the water can often help. Once you're sure your chick is out of the woods, but a couple of the gentler chicks in with it. After you sure it's okay, you can reintroduce it to everyone.

The stuffed animal chick can really help.
