Hello, I received chicks yesterday. All are doing fine except one- they all seemed fine to me yesterday. Today, one is in the corner with it's eyes closed chirping, I don't know the cause. Any information on what could be wrong? Any advice? Thanks!

If you can get some vitamins with electrolytes, put some in the water right away, and start dipping her beak into the water as often as you can today. She may be suffering from shipping stress. Make sure that the chick is warm, but not too warm by keeping a thermometer on the floor of your brooder at 90 degrees F the first week, decreasing be 5 degrees weekly. There should also be a cooler spot in the brooder to escape the heat. If you don't have electrolytes, then use Pedialyte, Gatorade, or look up home electrolytes for chickens.

From the recipes I have found, I have not had all the needed ingredients. It is late here, and no stores are open, so I have to wait until tomorrow to get some things like Gatorade. I really hope she makes it through the night, as she is quite sweet.

Thank you guys for the help- she survived the night and seems a little better. I put a little gatorade into the water to help the chicks out. I will update on her status later.
