I asked for help a few days ago, but nobody replied... so here I go again!
My 6 1/2 week old pullet has had runny poo for the longest time. When I say runny I mean like it drips out her butt even when she isn't going. It seemed to irritate her. She still acts otherwise normal (eats and drinks and plays, etc) Today I noticed she now seems to be in pain. She fluffs up in a crouching position like she's constipated and her neck feathers poof out like a hedgehog and she does this gasping cluck while she tries to poop and very watery feces comes out that's normal colored with a tinge of white, but the watery part looks like it has a hint of blood in it.
None of my other birds have this going on. She actually had to be separated from the rest of her chick-mates because they were pecking at her butt (probably because she had some issues going on). Well, now she's got younger chicks living with her who seem healthy and fine too. So, hopefully what she has is not contagious!
All of my chickens have had loose stools, but not watery. Is this normal for them to have a bit sludgy like poop at times and then other times nice formed poop? I'm new to chickens.
And I dewormed the group a few days ago with Wazine (sp?)
Concerned about this one particular pullet though. The water-like drainage coming from her butt is upsetting and the poor chicken can't seem to catch a break or rejoin the others. And now she's crying!
