I have a Rhode Island Red that’s had a messy vent for a month now. I took her to the vet last Saturday and he said she had parasites since she felt thin as well. He suggested medication so I’ve been giving the entire flock corrid in their water. They did a fecal test and it didn’t show any parasites in it.
Today she is just kind of hunched with her eyes closed. I’m not sure if it’s because it feels like 2 degrees out which is cold for the area and they haven’t been able to free range since we still have a lot of icy snow in the ground. I noticed that she wasn’t sleeping in the nesting boxes anymore and was going to roost so I thought she was better. She wasn’t too interested in some scratch this morning but did peck at it when I held it up to her. Do you think this could be something else? I’m very worried for her.
