Sick chicken purple comb, urine smell, skinny

Losing weight and looking dazed are not good signs.....

I think the vet is the best option at this point since she has been doing poorly for a while now.

Very hard to diagnose online when there is ,an odor associated with the condition.

The discolored comb is usually associated with a heart or circulation issue. However it sure sounds like there is another thing causing it.

I have a vent appointment tomorrow at 1040. It was the earliest I could get this morning.

I did see that you already have an appointment.
:hugs I didn't mean it to sound like you hadn't.

Darn birds are hardwired to hide illness as long as possible.

I really hope the vet can help you and her.

No I didn't think that. I feel like I am being neglectful because I waited a day to make the appointment.

Seriously you did the best you could. I would likely have waited too.

You cannot start blaming yourself for any of this. You will lose focus.
Sometimes we have to be very analytical and deal with the facts. Keeping emotion totally out of it so the crisis can be handled is a hard thing but needed.

You're doing more than many could or would do. Hang in there the best you can. Even if the prognosis is bad you will need to be able to make a possibly gut wrenchingly hard decision.

I and many others have been there. We are here for you no matter what.
:hugs

Thank You for everyone's help. She passed away this morning before I could take her to the vet.
