Oh I'm so sorry you lost her, she was a lovely bird! I'm blessed that the chicken coop and run are in the shade much of the day. Glad you have found some things that are working to keep the rest of them cool.Thanks for asking. Unfortunately she passed away. Fairly certain it was the heat, and so I’ve got an entire list of things I’ve been doing when the afternoons get into the upper 90s.

I’ve added lots of ventilation to the coop, which is probably the single most important. I mounted some fans near where they hang in the day and right outside the coop to keep air moving. I’m hosing off the concrete by their coop in the afternoons and taking trays of ice chips and mealworms out.
So far we haven’t had quite the wave of heat we had in July but the chickens are happy and not often even panting when they go into the coop at night now.
