I did read other similar posts... mareks, botulism and some broad neuro disorders came up... but i dont want to wait for more symptoms to show up and find her almoat dead like my cockeral :(... thank you

Have you had the bird's on any coccidiosis preventative whether it was in medicated feed or treated water? If you have not, I would treat them. Don't give medicated feed and treated water at the same time.

When birds are weak, they will help balance themselves while standing or walking with their wings down. Check for mites or lice by parting the feathers as you look over their body. Look around the vent, the breast, along the back, under wings, and neck. How do the scales look on the legs and feet? Are scales raised away from the leg?

If the bird appears mite and louse free, I would give Corid for 5-7 days. Dosage is 2 tsp per gallon of water for 9.6% solution, or 1 tsp for 20% powder. Make a fresh solution every day, and be sure the treated water is the only drinking source during that time. Let me know how the bird is doing during the treatment.

She haz never been treated... but i do have medicated chick starter. I think she had coccidiosis when she was younger but pulled through ( although she wasnt tested so couldve just appeared like bloody poop at the time)). I looked quite closely at her today but honestly im quite clueless...so i may not have notived an obvious sign of a mite. i will investigate further in the morning and keep you posted. Should i try giving her medicated feed in the mean time? Im not sure how easy it will be to come by Corid (if it comes to that). Thanks Michael apple

At 5 months old they should be started on a layer ration, so don't give the medicated feed, especially if it is over a month old. If I were you, I'd use the Corid treatment I mentioned in the previous post. We can go from there. Don't waste too much time. Corid is available from most any feed store.
