Hi everyone,
I am new to the group. I have a sick chicken. This morning I noticed she is lethargic and will easily let me handle her. When she laid an egg it was paper thin and fell apart. Her head is withdrawn into her shoulders and her stools are like water. I didn't see any blood.

Does anyone know what this could be? Should I quarentine her?

Thank you!
Ashley

Hi what are you feeding her? The thin shell might suggest some sort of deficiency

I am giving her purina organic grower/starter feed because we just introduced our chicks to the 4 adult chickens we have. She is one of the adults. I also have grit available to her.

Grown hens shouldn't really be getting starter food, it is designed for young chickens who don't need to lay eggs every day

edit: ignore me]

I gave her an Epsom salt bath and quarentined her. Also went to buy some oyster shells and now she has those available. She does seem a little better. Hoping tomorrow is a better day! Thank you for all the suggestions.
