Sick chicken

Here is a photo of her. She slept in my room last night so I could keep an eye on her. I had 1 other chicken act like this before but got ok. I'm not sure if she is laying nor not but she hasn't pooped all night :( I'm not sure how to check her but she looked ok from behind. View attachment 1869953

Why would the comb not be Red? What causes it to flop over? I have an awesome healthy one with a comb laying over.
She has not pooped at all since you brought her in last night?
Does her crop have anything in it?

I would glove up, use a little oil or lubricant, insert a finger inside the vent about 1-2" feel for an egg.
If she is not pooping that's not good. She doesn't look too lethargic, so a nice soak in a warm epsom salts bath may get things moving.

Some combs can flop over a little, but I think her may be flopped over because she's not feeling too well.

I gave her a bath in Palmolive dish soap and used a blow dryer to set her. She went to sleep as I did this but later I moved her outside. There isn't anything in the crop. To be honest she felt hot there. I meant to mention my flock is raised on Natures Best Orangic Feed. They are fully free ranged though and I also give them an organic corn that is milled from an organic heirloom seed. My husband does the grinding for this Mill and gets it for us. This chicken is very thin as I can feel its boney carcass. I am wondering if it's being picked at in the coop and not getting fed? I had the chicken in a box on the porch and the other nosey chickens kept trying to get in her box so I had to bring her back inside. I worry about it being too cool in here. I have prayed and I will just leave this in G-ds hands as I have done about as much as I know to do. :(

@Dixieldy has your hen every passed any droppings? Did you check her for a stuck egg? Can you try to feed her some cooked egg and a little wet chicken feed? She needs water first, and electrolytes or Gatorade would be good.

I haven't been able to get her to eat or drink since I bathed her. She was trying to drink this morning. I wish I had left her alone now. There was nothing in her vent. I tried to give her some egg but now she is hardly opening her eyes. I feel so awful.. There is nothing I can see with my eyes that points to any problems. I wonder if she got dehydrated in the coop whole I was gone. My son let the chickens out once he got home from work but that was around 4pm. However all 12 other chickens are fine. I'm feeding organic feed also and this chicken doesn't hardly have any meat on its bones. I just cant figure out what is wrong. I just pray she doesn't die :(

I just checked her vent and I could see some yellow dried up stuff I thought I had washed off while bathing her. When I stuck my finger in her vent, moved it around to see if I could find an egg and there was none. I took my finger out and Yellow slimy stuff came out. So what would that be? It ran all over me.

If she hasn’t eaten or drunk anything the last 2 days, and with the weight loss, she may be dying. This time of year with the heat, some are lost to heatstroke. But she may have something wrong with her internally that has caused her to waste away. Cancer can be common in chickens. Egg yolk peritonitis is also common. If she was kept away from food and water by others, she may be severely dehydrated and starving. All I know to do is to get some Poultry NutriDrench or electrolyte water into her, and see if she revives. The runny droppings probably goes along with whatever illness she is suffering. Sorry that she is so ill. You can get a necropsy by your state vet if she dies, to get a diagnosis. The body should be kept cool, not frozen, and wrapped in 2 garbage bags. Here is a link for state vets:

Thank you so much. She is so weak I could hardly get her to take water as I gave it to her by syringe. Breaks my heart so much. I am still hopeful though. Thanks for the information, I appreciate it!

She died the next morning making me wish I had not bathed her or put my finger up her. Maybe I caused her to die :( I just hate it so badly losing any of them :( Thank you all who tried to help me.
