Sick Chicken

Smarty passed away this morning :(...... she is no longer suffering.

I have got to become stronger in being able to euthanize these chickens. The part that bothers me most is the suffering. I haven't been able to take life away. Any good reasoning or thoughts on this?

I have no advice on this. I, too, have not had to do this yet, and I don’t know what I will do.
I am new at chicken (and duck) keeping, and this is the first time I have had animals that weren’t domestic pets. My vet doesn’t do chickens and ducks.
I have been giving this subject some thought, and I think the best thing to do is investigate all the humane methods of dispatching a chicken and then I should choose one that seems best to me.
I am not looking forward to the day I have to do that. I have never killed anything myself.
