Sick Chicken

Also, the little white thing in the bottle that you poke a syringe through fell into the liquid. Should I transfer the liquid to a different container, will the white thing be bad for the liquid?

Thank you for your patience. A lot of us aren't on all the time, we have our own flocks and families to see to:)

Tylan50 dose is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally three times a day for 5 days in a row.

Poultry Nutri-Drench dose is 1ml per 3 pound of weight given orally once a day for 3-5 days.

I would not transfer the Tylan50 into another container. Try to keep the contents as clean as you can. I would put some plastic wrap over the top and secure it with a rubber band, then store it in the fridge.

If you ever find that you need a syringe with a needle, you can try asking at your pharmacy. Often they will give you one.

Thank you!!

Would he need 1/3 ml of nutri- drench and 0.25 ml of tylan50? I don't have a scale but he is about one pound. Does it need to be exact?

Also, is the little white thing ok in the medicine?

It would be good if you can weigh him. Do you have a kitchen scale?

If he does only weigh a pound, then his dose for Tylan50 would be 0.25ml give orally 3 times a day for 5 days.

PND dose would be 1/3, your right.

I would leave the white thing in the medicine.
My kitchen scale is sadly lost.

I lost track of this thread and didn't find it again until now. How is Louie doing this evening? Were you able to administer the meds? Has he eaten anything? If it helps at all, I have a bantam d'uccle rooster that weighs just around 2lbs. I imagine a serama is that or perhaps a little less, perhaps in the 1.5lb range, especially if he had a cold and hasn't been eating much.
