Sick chicken!!!!

Please help, I went out to the coop this morning and one of our girls was acting a little different then normal and holding her beak wide open… brought her inside, gave her some acv water and oregano but she sounds like she’s “gurgling” sort of and then shakes her head really hard almost as if she’s trying to get something out of her throat? Sounds weird but that’s what she’s acting like . Raspy breathing and big gurgle sounds .

Full list of symptoms? Any stretching? Was she gurgling before the acv ? For what purpose did you give her acv and oregano? How did you give it?

There is a type of worm that usually lodges in the trachea of chickens and prevents them from breathing well, from the symptoms you mention, it seems to me that she could have inadvertently consumed one.

I think it could been gapeworms, they are little red worms that stay in the trachea and begin to suck the blood from the hens.

You're going to need a more specialized antibiotic, oregano won't do anything to it, as far as I know.
