I noticed that one of my chickens were sneezing all day. She doesn’t have watery eyes or sneezing anymore. Instead it’s a different chicken that has watery eyes and sneezing. I’m having baby chicks hatching any moment. Is there anything I can to help ?

Look for any dust, mold, or environmental reason for the sneezing. How is your coop ventilation? Is the sneezing all day long every few minutes, or especially when eating chicken feed? Have you added any new chickens to the flock recently? Look for any bubbles or foam in one eye. Hopefully it is just something dusty, but it could be a respiratory disease such as infectious bronchitis or mycoplasma gallisepticum.

They were free ranging when I noticed today. I did add two new chickens like 2 weeks ago. There is definitely a bubble in her eye.

If you added new chickens, it could be that either one was a carrier for IB or MG. IB is a virus that has to run it’s course over about a month, while MG can be treated with certain antibiotics from a vet. Tylosin powder may be found from Jedds.com at this time, but most antibiotics are now prescription only.

Testing through your state vet, NPIP test or, or a local vet who will collect a sample can get testing. Zoologix, a neational lab, will send swabs to collect yourself and send back to them for pcr testing. MG tends to cause bubbles in one eye, and swelling of the face or eyelid. There may or may not be other symptoms. Here is a link about MG:

IB virus tends to cause sneezing every few minutes, and mild congestion. Some layers will lay a wrinkled egg shell. They usually go about their day eating and drinking.
