Sick Chicken

from California, I agree with sumi's advise.

Thank you everyone :) She is doing better. Has more energy. Not so wheezy. Only the sneezing left to deal with. She has become very spoiled and is enjoying being spoiled lol. The others must be missing her, the 3 that had not left there coop since being here, came out yesterday when I brought her outside to get some air. She loves being snuggled. I was surprised when I put her down on the ground, I sat down and she came and sat down right next to me. After patting her for a bit, I got up and went to freshen up her little hospital, then she started walking around and pecking at the grass. When we first got the girls I had no idea of how loveable they would be. I'm loving this more then I thought I would. :)

I'm glad to hear she's better! Just don't be tempted to put her back with the others until you are 100% sure she's well. Chickens can sometimes appear to be quite healthy when they are not! But I think letting her out for a little while and letting her get some sun and fresh air is good. If you aren't doing it already add some Apple Cider Vinegar to her drink water. (4-5 tablespoons to a gallon) Just to give her a little boost. The ACV helps them absorb nutrients, and talking of which, see if you can get some Aloe vera leaves, chop that up and add it to her drink water now and then. It's packed with good stuff. I read a study awhile ago that found feeding broilers Aloe vera makes them grow faster (like they're not growing fast enough already LOL)
