Sick chicken

That's what I was afraid of too. He said her breathing is real shallow now.

You should check out PoultryDVM.com, it is new and still in beta version but really useful for ruling out possibilities of what might be wrong.

I took a look at PoultryDVM.com and there is basic info to get by on. However there's quite abit info missing or info that is outdated in some of the subject matter.
Here's a site that covers alot of diseases including symptoms, treatments etc...and is more up to date.
http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044
There are more "edis ufl" links that provide more in detail info about specific diseases.

I also have a sick hen. A 3yr old red sexlink. She does not roost or even sit at all. She sleeps standing up. She looks like she's had loose stool because it's all caked and dried around her back end. I wasn't sure if anyone new what could possibly be going on. I do not want her to suffer. I have never warmed any of my hens and I know they do not have mites or lice. Please help. Thanks.

Try looking up "vent gleet" and coccidiosis... More info is always good... How long has she been sick? Have you got a good look at the poop? Is it bloody, green, foamy... Is she thin?
Anything new, feed or birds? Could she have eaten something bad?

She's been like this for a couple of wks on and off. She's eating and walks around with the others. No blood in poop maybe green sometimes. It us runny but not foamy. I'll look up that info given. Thanks.
